Arriving

Getting to the UK is the hardest part of any trip but when you arrive (or leave) you often have to start by finding a place to stay near the airport .

usually a short taxi ride can take you to much nicer and better value accommodation, where you might stay for a few days to explore the local towns and villages. No one could like staying in the big airport hotels or motels which are expensive and impersonal

Bed and breakfast

Basic for a one night stay no cooking facilities. if you stay for more than one night its a good idea to visit a few to find a nice one i.e. friendly people or family based. These are often homes so you should arrive around 6.00pm or earlier. After 10pm is very late for most B+B's.

Price from as little as 15 pounds per night

Country House

For longer stays in one place a house is better you get cooking facilities and more privacy. But its more expensive and usually paid by the week. With three or more people this is the best value for money.

From 300-600 pounds per week more in prime locations less in normal towns.

Hotel

More expensive a bit more luxurious although not much. Usually impersonal. Good for later arrivals.

From 50 pounds per night upwards.
